Blurry but cute.

I would have sworn we had more pictures to put up but it turns out that they are all blurry to a much greater degree than this one or they employ "the flash" or, evil of evils, they have Christine in them. Few pictures can be seen by the public if they contain the image of Christine in them. So it is written. So shall it be done. Or something.

Tuesday went to the doctor today because we had some concerns about her stomach tube. Over this last weekend she developed a propensity for gagging whenever she sucked on her pacifier. She also started spitting up more which terrifies us because she has a difficult time starting to breath after spitting up because she has a hard time swallowing and thus a hard time clearing her airway. So our thinking was maybe her feeding tube was, you know, doing something that, well, we really didn't know, honestly, but what else could it be?

The doctor ordered and x-ray to find out where the tube was exactly but was very up front with the opinion that the tube is most likely fine and that what we are seeing is a hyperactive gag reflex with possibly some stomach reflux. In other words, it's probably just another problem that Tuesday is going to have. Since she was at the doctor's office she of course got the routine examination wherein the doctor found that our daughter has developed a definite heart murmur and her liver has moved. The doctor was also insistent that we call the hospice people and have someone come over at least a couple of nights a week to be with the baby through the night because we simply can't keep going the way we have been.

The x-ray was taken and the good news is that her tube is right where it's supposed to be. The bad news is that her heart is larger than it should be and she has fluid in her lungs. An enlarged heart is a symptom of congenital heart failure and fluid in her lungs is a sign that her breathing is worsening.

She is three months old today.

Hey guys, I just wanted you to know that I've been thinking of you a lot and sending lots of love your way. I haven't been calling just because I know you have a lot going on these days(to say the least), and I don't want you to feel pressure to talk before you're ready. I hope you know you can call me anytime and I'll be there for you for anything I can give. I love all of you. Call me if you feel like getting out for coffee or to the park...
